深みのある暗い青色。 「瞑」とは目を閉じるという意味と、真っ暗闇という言葉に近い意味を持っている。太陽が沈む頃の薄暗くなった空の色をあらわす色名としても使われる。 静けさや落ち着きを象徴し、平安時代から装束や染織に用いられ、特に文人や学者が愛用していた。 A deep, dark blue.
