信号待ち

My new work “Waiting at the Traffic Light” is a photo tracing piece based on photographs taken in Osaka City during the summer of 2019. It depicts a woman waiting for the signal in the shadow of a utility pole during the uniquely hazy, white midsummer days of a Japanese city. If this were 2025, I'm sure she'd be holding a handheld fan. 新作「信号待ち」は2019年の夏に大阪市で撮影した写真をベースに制作した写真トレース作品です。日本の都会特有の白く霞んだような真夏に電信柱の影で信号を待つ女性を描きました。2025年の現在ならきっと彼女はハンディーファンを持っていると思います。
