Hone Onna are the spirits of women who return from the grave because of undying love. Though their true form is that of a rotting, skeletal corpse, the Hone Onna appear to mortals as young, beautiful women in their prime. Even the Hone Onna themselves do not realize that they are dead. They are blinded by a single all-consuming desire - to have sex with the man that they loved when they were still alive. This unholy coupling lasts for days and even weeks. And with each session of intercourse, the Hone Onna unwittingly drain the life force of their lovers.
